Hear our voices |
Nov. 9th 2016On Nov 9th Portland residents woke up in disbelief. Students of Cleveland high school stood hand and hand for those Trump hates. It all started with A single Facebook post. I myself was invited to join the peaceful protest. We first gathered to create signs and chant. We gradually linked up with other groups and eventually marched around downtown.
Slowly but surely our amazing movement grew and grew. Speeches were shared. As a community we voiced our love for those who felt unsafe. I made it a priority to document what we did on this troubling day. Please feel free to leave comments and share these beautiful people and there signs. |
!!!PSA!!! |
It's definitely upsetting seeing how out of hand the protest have become. Yesterday I took part in a peaceful and amazing protest. We came together and shared a truly inspiring event. We weren't fighting against the overall election of trump. What we were trying to accomplish was letting the people who trump so easily degraded know that we cared/recognized them. When people make it a priority to vandalize others property it proves that there is hate associated with the protest. That's the exact opposite of what we should be fighting for.. that becomes a riot. We have voices and there are better ways to make them known. Of course we are angry and disgusted with the elections outcome and protesting that is your right. Just don't make enemies that could potentially be your allies.
